An Update on the Strategic School Leadership Team
Any dynamic organization changes over time. In that spirit, six years into our mission, you will read below that our team at SSL is evolving, as my friend, colleague and co-founder Vance Wilson steps back from his role as Co-Managing Partner, and Drew Casertano steps up to join me in leading SSL. We go “from strength to strength,” and we look forward to ongoing good work with schools and leaders, for our purpose remains clear and never more important.

Friends:
I have decided that now is the right time for me to step aside from my role as Co-Managing Partner of Strategic School Leadership, after founding the firm in 2018 with Rick Melvoin and watching it grow to seven partners and three affiliates. Without question, two aspects of the firm have delighted me. I have met and worked with a large number of school heads and senior administrators and am deeply appreciative of the investment the schools have made in my counsel. I have also deepened my friendships with long-term, extremely successful school heads who have joined the firm—Drew Casertano, who will be an excellent co-manager, Carolyn Chandler, Margarita Curtis, Marjo Talbot and Brad Gioia.
—Vance Wilson
As Vance noted, I am pleased and honored to join Rick Melvoin, the co-founder of Strategic School Leadership, as Co-Managing Partner. Vance leaves big shoes to fill. I’m excited to work with Rick and, together with him, to support our outstanding partners as we continue to serve school leaders, so their schools may thrive.
—Drew Casertano
