Our consulting firm Strategic School Leadership (SSL) is made up of eight former school heads who have proven track records of leading their schools successfully over extended lengths of time. (In fact, we averaged a rather striking 21 years in the job!) We work collaboratively, meeting regularly, so that each of our clients has the benefit of our shared experience.
All of us have ably navigated issues from strategic planning to capital and annual campaigns, from financial planning to campus and facilities planning, from building administrative teams to crisis management. We understand the nuances and importance of balancing the roles and responsibilities of school leadership. Our hearts and heads are firmly rooted in caring for students and faculty, while building strong relationships with trustees, parents, and alums.
In creating SSL, we made a conscious decision to focus our consultancy on helping school leaders to thrive. We listen carefully to our clients and try to help them find their “better angels” as they work with boards, students, parents, staff/faculty, and alumni. While we don’t want to be immodest, we believe that we bring a genuinely unusual level of expertise, experience, and what one might call “earned wisdom.” We hope this earned wisdom makes a distinctive difference for schools and their leaders, and we would be pleased to partner with you in any dimensions of this noble and sometimes challenging work.
